To Do –

Stop and smell the roses… Cycle (or drive) the historic Montagu pass. Hike. Play golf. Do the park-run every Saturday morning at 8 starting at the Botanical Gardens. Surf Vic Bay. Visit the Redberry Farm and pick your own strawberries. For a comprehensive list see :   http://www.outeniqua-hop-route.co.za/activities.html

To See –

Ask us to book a game drive at Bottelierskop. Visit the Botanical garden. Visit the Outeniqua Transport museum and also see the excellent exhibition of privately owned vintage cars.

Shop –

My favorite antique shop is Maurits Lammers Antiques, my favorite shop for secondhand books – The Blue Forest in Market Street. We also have bookstores, outdoor gear shops and beautiful clothing shops at the Garden Route Mall. The little leather ‘velskoen’ are from Der Lederhandler in the Mall. George is the home of Wonki Ware pottery and the factory store is on York Street.

Showtime in George –

The Clivia Show, Heritage Show, Orchid Show and Strawberry festival are all spring shows. The Open Gardens are held late summer – contact me for details. The Old Car Show is held mid-February and brings people from all over the world to George.
