We have 3 rooms suitable for guests with disabilities. There is one small step (about 10 cm) to gain access to the patio from the paved parking area and level access to the lounge and dining room. There is a threshold step to access the outdoor patio, swimming pool, and the garden, but we do have a wooden ramp that we could put up over the steps. The rooms have loose carpets, but obviously, these could be removed for mobility-impaired guests. We have a shower chair available on request. Our guest house is not primarily aimed at guests in wheelchairs, but we have had positive reviews from mobility-impaired guests.

  1. Room 1  is wheelchair accessible.       The height of the bed is 620 mm. Double leaf doors open onto the small patio with table and chairs – the size of the double doors could also allow for a hoist. There is adequate space in the open-plan bathroom for maneuvering of a wheelchair. There is leg space of 700 mm underneath the basin with lever tap. Roll-in shower with an overhead as well as hand-held shower and lever tap and a  grab rail. Width of the shower entrance is 870 mm.
Adequate space next to the toilet for side-ways transfer on the side of the small basin. Height of toilet seat is 470 mm and height of grab rail is 780 mm. The toilet room has a swing door and there is a hand shower attached to the toilet.
  2. Room 2 has a small shower room with no space for a wheelchair, and therefore more suitable for someone with limited mobility, but who can get into the shower.
  3. The Apartment bathrooms are both wheelchair accessible but with limited space for transfer in the room with the queen-sized fourposter bed.
